So, I am about 15 weeks post relaxer and, while I have this wonderful new growth, this is the time when my hair starts getting a bit tangly and thick. A lot of people ask me ways to stretch relaxers or deal with new growth with out running to the salon.
Here is my tip - as you stretch, try to find ways to manipulate your hair less and less. Make bigger braids and sections and it will cause you to fight with your hair less and less. I tend to go from roller sets to braid outs to two braid air drys. I gradually stop sectioning and combing and opt for styles that require less manipulation. This way I work with my natural texture and go with styles that airdry overnight and are a bit fuller. It saves me a lot of time and energy. Its also a great easy style that can be done daily for the work out divas. Click on the post to read the written instructions :)

Ok, so a lot of people asked me what I do with my Braid Outs during the week. Here is my braid out pony. I washed and conditioned with Organix Vanilla Silk and braided - no other product. I wore it out and that night, I gathered it in a high pony and went to bed.
The next morning, I spritzed with a liquid leave-in (Jane Carter Nourish and Shine) and scrunched the curls. I applied some Nourish and Shine to the hair and use a blowdryer to lightly slick back. I regathered the hair in a pony and was out the door. If you need a visual, let me know and I can do a video. Here are the end results :)
